LEADWOOD SLABS
What's the Leadwood?
Leadwood is not an academic term, but a common name in the market that encompasses various types of wood. One specific type is known as fengche wood. It is a slow-growing evergreen tree found in Africa, particularly Mozambique. Fengche wood has very hard and dense wood with deep and light stripes. It is resistant to wear and corrosion, and its colors range from black to purple. When placed in water, it sinks.

Why Leadwood?

Leadwood is a high-end hardwood known for its durability, natural beauty, and excellent workability. It has a dense and sturdy structure, making it ideal for furniture and flooring. With its deep colors and unique grain patterns, leadwood stands out in interior decor. It is also resistant to corrosion and can be easily carved and polished to create exquisite wooden crafts.
RUSTIC CRAFTSMANSHIP
The greatest advantage of the rustic craftsmanship compared to other techniques on the market is its increased hardness, scratch resistance, high temperature resistance, and the ability to avoid leaving marks when exposed to heat. It is also waterproof, oil-resistant, and crack-resistant. During long-term use, there is no need to worry about maintenance. Additionally, the texture and quality of the surface will exhibit a more luxurious appearance.

Naturally air-drie
The stability of naturally air-dried wood is stronger. Kiln drying is a human-made process that rapidly extracts moisture through high temperatures. Due to the large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the wood and the rapid heating of the wood's interior, if the drying speed is too fast or the duration is too long, it may result in inadequate heat dissipation and lead to the wood expanding and cracking.

High-Frequency Dried
In order to accelerate the drying speed of wood and keep up with production capacity, we utilize wood drying equipment that combines microwave and hot air. By utilizing an electromagnetic field to excite the water molecules inside the wood, frictional heating occurs, allowing the moisture to evaporate rapidly and steadily. The high-frequency drying chamber controls the temperature difference between the inside and outside during this process.

Moisture Content of the Wood
Because artificially accelerating the drying process can result in uneven moisture content in different parts of the wood, during the secondary air-drying process, moisture within the wood slowly evaporates. Based on our extensive air-drying data, it has been shown that a natural air-drying period of 45 days allows for an even distribution of moisture content throughout the wood.

Cracking Resistance
We have employed an open coating process, and for the primer, we have chosen high-quality Huarun wood paint, which allows the wood to breathe freely and is more environmentally friendly. This enables the wood to have high temperature resistance, water resistance, oil resistance, resistance to friction and abrasion, resistance to deformation, and resistance to cracking.
Leadwood slabs maintain the natural beauty of a tree by preserving its unique composition and appearance. Also called natural edge slabs, these can be used as kitchen countertops, shelving, bars, tabletops, and more. Our slabs is great for those who enjoy the rustic feel and want to own a distinct piece of furniture.
